Issue: If 1-D spatial regions can be aggregates of lines, why cannot zero-D spatial regions be aggregates of points? What kind of entity is an aggregate of zero-D spatial regions?
This issue is being addressed as part of current work on BFO 2.0 FOL, which will include a much more rigorous account of spatial and temporal regions.
