how do I download

on your tutorial it shows you bringing it in from desktop. how do I put it into desktop?

Click on the "CharacterController2D.cs" file on the "Code" tab
Click on the "Raw" button next to the "Blame" button and below the code

Then Right click, and click "Save As" (this may look different)
or press Ctrl and S at the same time.

And put it where ever you want (in your case, on your Desktop)
