display problem of line numbers in snippet using Safari #2340

Describe the bug

The line numbers in the snippet are not shown in the correct place using the Safari browser. See screenshots.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Go to snippet
Press enter
See line number not shown in the correct place

Expected behavior
line number after "1" does not shift up

OS [e.g. macOS Monterey]: MacOS 14.1.2
Browser [e.g. chrome, safari, electron app]: safari
Browser version [e.g. 22]: 17.1.2
Backend branch [e.g. dev, v3b2 release]: dev
Frontend branch [e.g. dev, v3b2 release]: dev and v4-stable

Additional context
This problem doesn't appear in Chrome and Firefox.
