When should I use global_time_series or the E3SM Diags Area Mean Time Series?

From @chengzhuzhang: The Area Mean Time Series set from e3sm_diags generates a set of regional mean (including global mean) of a number of default atmospheric variables. If there is available observational data time series, both the model and obs data time series will be plotted. The input is regridded time-series files from cam/eam. There is no support currently for land variables. The global time series from zppy is specifically for global average.
