For new term requests, please provide the following information:

Preferred term label

response to sarilumab

Synonyms

Textual definition

Response to sarilumab, a human monoclonal antibody against interleukin (IL)-6Rα, which has been used to treat rheumatoid arthritis.

Suggested parent term

response to xenobiotic stimulus (http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/GO_0009410) or response to xenobiotic stimulus trait (http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/OBA_VT0010487) - I guess the choice here depends on whether EFO is switching to use the OBA term to replace the GO term, or if this is not happening yet (?)

It might also make sense to create an additional parent term "response to antirheumatic drug" above "response to sarilumab" but below "response to xenobiotic stimulus".

Hi @eks-ebi. Sarilumab does not exist in CHEBI so it would not be possible to create the term using the DOSDP pattern response_to_chemical_with_role_stimulus in OBA. However, the following terms exist: the parent term antirheumatic drug CHEBI:35842 antirheumatic drug and the EFO term EFO:0020998 sarilumab. Would you prefer we create the more general term in OBA or create the requested term in EFO for now?

Hi @ar-ibrahim, I think I'd prefer to create the more general term in OBA. It's probably more useful at that level anyway, and better to stick to the pattern for consistency.

Term added as OBA:2050354 response to antirheumatic drug and will be made available after the next OBA and EFO releases.
