MinGW Build Instructions
1. Set up MinGW. You need the compiler and MSYS environment too.
2. Download source for SDL, freetype, jpeg, libogg, libpng, libvorbis, zlib, SDL_image, SDL_mixer, SDL_ttf.
3. Try to configure and make install all of them. I set --prefix=/mingw for all of them. All of them worked without issues for me, except for SDL_mixer. I had to manually prevent it from compiling the two test apps (playwav and playmus).
4. Follow instructions on http://www.gaia-gis.it/spatialite-3.0.0-BETA/mingw_how_to.html#pkg-config to get pkg-config. There's probably a better way but I didn't know it.
5. Download source for glew. This doesn't have a configure, I had to run "GLEW_DEST=/mingw make install" to get it to work.
6. Make a glu.pc file so pkg-config will recognize it. Creating /mingw/lib/pkgconfig/glu.pc with these contents will work:
prefix=/mingw
exec_prefix=${prefix}
libdir=${exec_prefix}/lib
includedir=${prefix}/include
Name: glu
Description: Mesa OpenGL Utility library
Version: 1.3
Libs: -lopengl32 -lglu32
Cflags: -I${includedir}
7. Get Boost. Building it isn't ideal.
a. First need bootstrap: ./bootstrap.sh --toolset=mingw --with-libraries=system,regex. You'll need more libraries for Frogatto server. I didn't build it. To try, I'd add thread and iostreams at minimum.
b. Fix up generated files. See http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5012429/building-boost-under-msys-cant-find-mingw-jam and replace mingw with gcc in project-config.jam.
c. Build boost. Make sure you build the multi-threaded libs.
8. Build Frogatto with the Makefile.mingw. (make -f Makefile.mingw)
