Follow Up to Usability Test

Thanks to the kind folks at 18F three notable developers performed usability testing on our developer portal and the APIs themselves. We got terrific feedback and several action items. We have already made one update which is to make our left hand navigation more readable on small monitors.

We have submitted several user stories to our development team and we will track them here on our Github Issues:

• Some queries return results for garbage queries
• Results from the News & Articles API include empty arrays
• Update and clarify Trade Leads documentation
• Clarify the number of results returned from each API

We will also make updates to our general documentation:

• How often are the API endpoints updated?
• What is the schedule?
• What happens if a developer starts pulling too much data too fast?
• In our search examples use search.json suffix instead of just search.

Just updated the ITA Developer Portal to address issues with the left nav and consistency with using search as the suffix to our examples.
