- Introduction.

In this data pack, some mobs can be tamed and made into pets.

- Tame Method

The tame challenge begins when a player hits the mob with a dropped golden apple.
(The player must hit the mob before the golden apple reaches the ground.)
If you succeed in the tame challenge, the mob becomes your pet.

Success/failure conditions for the tame challenge are as follows.

 Success Conditions:
Reduces the mob's HP by a certain amount.

 Failure Condition:
 60 seconds pass without success.

However, if an enchanted golden apple is used, the time will be extended to 120 seconds and the taim will succeed with half the amount of HP reduction.

After a successful taim challenge, the mob will be itemized.
The item can then be used to summon a pet.
Except for phantoms, mobs that burn in sunlight are equipped with a leather hat with zero defense when tamed.

- Pet Behavior

Mobs that become pets will perform the following actions
 Follows the player
Teleports around the player when separated from the player
Attacks mobs that are hostile to its allies/those that have attacked the player

When the pet is hostile to a mob, an icon (⚔️) will appear above its head.

- Party

The player and the pets accompanied by the player are called a party.
A party can contain up to six pets.

Each pet has its own cost.
There is a cost limit for the party, and the total cost of all pets in the party must be less than or equal to the cost limit.
The cost limit is increased by achieving progress.
The cost cap can be disabled in the settings.

- Pet HP

When a pet's HP reaches 0, it goes into a down state.
Continuing to sneak near a downed pet will revive it from its downed state.

When the pet is not hostile to the mob, the pet's HP will automatically recover.

- Conductor

You can perform various actions on your pet using an item called a conductor.
You can change the mode by dropping the Conductor in your main hand.

With the conductor you can perform the following actions

  • Check monster information
  • Stop pets
  • Gather pets around itself
  • Make pets hostile to any mob
  • Turn the pet into an item.
  • Make yourself ride a pet * Make a pet ride another pet make your pet ride another pet * make your pet ride another pet
  • Enhance your pet.
  • Change the priority of your pet's actions

- tamer merchant

Items for calling tamer merchants will be added to the peddler's trade.
Trading with tamer merchants will provide access to conductors, datapack settings, and instruction manuals.
The trade will be increased with rewards for progress achieved, and pet gachas and equipment for pets will be added.
Pet equipment will be selected by lottery and updated daily in the morning.

- Sleeping in bed

Minecraft does not allow sleeping in bed when a monster is nearby. Monster pets are automatically itemized when standing in front of or on the bed when bedtime is possible.

- Logout

When a player logs out during multiplayer, the pet will be in a logged out state and will not move from that spot.
It will stay that way until the player logs back in, so it is recommended to log out somewhere out of the way or to itemize the pet before logging out.

- Cautions

This data pack uses a large portion of the Minecraft game system as is, and may cause unexpected behavior depending on the game system specifications.
