A Problem with Gold Mines #1042
Comments
Regarding the first issue: can you see if it still persists on the latest unstable, please? A word of warning, if you save on the latest unstable you can't reopen it on v4.0, so use a different name for the save (or keep playing on the unstable which is still rather stable). Yeah, the game isn't very accurate historically. I mean, you have Caesar on 500bc, so... 😉 |
The problem with the gold mines disappearing from the list when it was there before seems to be fixed in the unstable build, but several cities that have access to mints still have no mines available. I'm not sure if that was the original intent or not. |
It is indeed intended because you can convert denarii into gold using the city mint. |
I have to admit using gold instead of silver to mint denarii kind of bugs me as well. Zeus/Poseidon uses silver for drachmas, despite that game's otherwise greater historical inaccuracy. Some minor recoloring and changes to text would fix this. |
Describe the bug, the steps to reproduce, and if possible attach a saved game that show the wrong behavior and augustus.ini file to show which options are being used.
I have noticed that gold mines will sometimes not appear in the trade menu while other times it will. For example, a city will have access to a mint and a gold mine at first but when reloaded the gold mine will no longer be in the menu.
Also, I find is strange that gold mines were used in Augustus instead of silver mines since Roman Denarii, like Greek Drachma, were made of silver and not gold. I feel gold was selected due to players familiarity with Pharoah rather than history.
