Hi guys,

I recently switched from mining ETH (with trex) to mine RVN (with this miner).
I have two RTX2060, one on a desktop and one on a gaming laptop.
I used to get a slightly higher hashrate on my gaming laptop but most of the time the hashrate was the same between the two.
When mining RVN with kawpowminer though, the hashrate is considerably lower on my laptop (which is not running on a battery, the nvidia card is selected properly and with max performance settings).

Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this? I'm getting ~10Mh vs ~17Mh.

Both systems run on Linux (OpenSuse), same kernel, same video card drivers, settings, miner etc...

  • Kernel 5.13.4-1-default
  • nVidia drivers 470.57.02
  • CUDA 11.2
  • kawpowminer ubuntu20-cuda11-1.2.4

KawPow uses more power and generate more heat than ETH.
Your laptop is probably thermal throttling.
