This PR adds Appsignal instrumentation so that some key event timelines are annotated with pointers back to the code. This will make troubleshooting and future optimization work much easier.

This current impl will more fully annotate the timeline as compared to the following screenshot, but at least you can get the idea of what these changes will do:
