 * Addressed an issure in netcdf4 related to specifying an endianness explicitly.  When specifying an endianness for `NC_FLOAT`, the value would appear to not be written to file, if checked with `ncdump -s`.  The issue was more subtle; the value would be written but was not being read from file properly for non-`NC_INT`.
