ViewTouch originally was designed to automate the information gathering, handling and reporting requirements of restaurants. As the years go by it has become suitable for use in many more hospitality settings than just restaurants. There are special extensions which make ViewTouch suitable for use in bars, clubs, cinemas and even in hotels, cinemas and General Retail. The availability of ViewTouch source code under the Free Software Foundation's license makes it a very simple matter to extend the usefulness of ViewTouch into new scenarios.

Since the arrival of ViewTouch at GitHub there have been scores of source code commits and enhancements very much welcomed by various clients the world over. It's a simple matter to add new enhancements to the source code. If you are not up to writing code there are programmers I can recommend who will write new extensions on a very reasonable contract basis. ViewTouch allows anyone to take control of their point of sale 'destiny', to free oneself from the very avoidable costs, restrictions and frustrations of relying on proprietary software and outside organizations.
