Make Post updated message bar auto-close #4495
Comments
Really, really annoying. What is the point with it ? |
This appears a lot less now and I think having the user notice, close isn't an issue as it now appearing less. Let's close and we can always review. |
@karmatosed It's not appearing less. It still appears every time you update or save the page. The fact that it doesn't disappear on its own is incredibly annoying, especially since it covers your content when you scroll. |
Is it difficult to make timeout mechanism in React ? Maybe @karmatosed means in new development version. One elegant solution can be calculate for height of message div and push content below. As they do with Admin bar in frontend. |
My point was exactly that in the latest version this only happens for me whilst updating a page and that makes sense for me as an action. It's good you get confirmation there. If we just updated without any feedback people would get caught. I also think having it actioned to close makes sense. It doesn't happen in any other instance. |
Just to be clear, I have at no time suggested that the Post updated message be removed altogether. As the title of this issue states, just make it auto-close after a certain number of seconds |
@maddisondesigns thanks for the clarification, I wasn't actually thinking you were saying that but always great to check understanding. |
Issue Overview
Not a bug as such, but can you please make that green Post updated message bar auto-close. It's really annoying updating a page and having to constantly close that bar manually every time.
I would suggest making it auto-close after 10 seconds, and also as soon as anything on the page is changed.
