Hi @ithinkihaveacat, is the whole AMP Bench project discontinued? or just the https://ampbench.appspot.com hosting? |
@oscarruizmrf Just the hosted version. The code will remain here for the foreseeable future. (Though it won't be updated.) |
Thanks @ithinkihaveacat. AMP Bench was validating structure data, and validator.amp.dev is not, do you know of any alternative to integrate structure data validation in a continuous integration system? |
@oscarruizmrf I haven't tried it myself, but https://www.npmjs.com/package/structured-data-testing-tool/ might help with structured data testing. /cc @nainar |
Hi folks. Do you know where can I find out if my structured data is valid for the Top Story Carousel? Here's what happened with our sites: we were validating the AMP pages and the structured data with the 3 first tools mentioned by @ithinkihaveacat and everything was looking fine. These tools were telling us that our pages were OK. But we have vanished from Google Discover and Google News. Then, I found AMP Bench and it told us that our Article.image and our Article.publisher.logo markup were NOT OK. I fixed the issues and we're hoping to see some better results in the next days. At the same time, I saw this thread and now I don't know where can I get a similar validation. |
@MtDalPizzol Thanks for the report. I was expecting those tools to do at least as good a job at ampbench for diagnosing schema.org problems, so there might be a bug here. What changes did you make? Are they mentioned in the |
@ithinkihaveacat , thanks for the quick response. We were having the following problems:
|
@MtDalPizzol Thanks for the additional info.' Re (1), I tested https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool and as you say it appears to not be issuing any warnings/errors if the Re (2), I'm not sure that's an actual error. For example the article images of https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/04/us/politics/senate-impeachment-vote.html are in an array, but the |
ampbench has now been turned off; https://ampbench.appspot.com/ redirects to https://github.com/ampproject/ampbench#status. We'll endeavour to keep the redirect working for at least 1 year. There are no plans to remove the source code from GitHub, however we will also not got to any heroics to ensure it stays around ;-). |
The team behind
ampbench
has decided to shut down the hosted version at https://ampbench.appspot.com on January 31st, 2020.We've made this decision for two main reasons:
What can I use instead?
None of these tools are a 1:1 replacement for
ampbench
, however we believe that together they cover most use cases:If these alternatives do not meet your needs, please use the comments below to: (1) explain how you're currently using
ampbench
and how its deprecation will disrupt your workflow; and (2) suggest some (limited!) things we could do to ease your pain. Thanks for using
ampbench
and happy AMP development!@ithinkihaveacat @pietergreyling @juliantoledo @labiaga
