It has been approximately four weeks since the last release, so I plan on creating another release soon.

Describe the solution you'd like

I think we should wait for the following issues/PRs to be resolved first (feel free to add other bug fixes here)

• Disable Parallel Parquet Writer by Default, Improve Writing Test Coverage #8854
• fix: don't extract common sub expr in CASE WHEN clause #8833
• Fix ApproxPercentileCont signature #8825
• Find the correct fields when using page filter on struct fields in parquet #8848
• Minor: fix wrong function call #8847
• fix bug with to_timestamp and InitCap logical serialization, add roundtrip test between expression and proto,  #8868
• datafusion-cli: results of group by aggregation query not showing #8702

Release Checklist

• Fix above issues
• Test benchmark performance compared to previous release
• Check for breaking changes that affect the Python bindings and Ballista

@devinjdangelo put in a workaround for these items so I don't think they are blocking the release anymore

It looks like we are making good progress on the bug fixes. I plan on creating the RC over the weekend if we are in good shape by then.
