Hey. The latest release in PyPI, published May 29th, 2022, seems to still be broken due to the werkzeug package incompatibility, #105, fixed with #109, merged May 20th, 2024. A new release should be published to PyPI. Otherwise the README should be updated to explain why and how to install from the git repo source.

So how to install successfully from git repo using pipx? I don't want to use pip to keep it isolated.

$ pipx install git+https://github.com/balta2ar/brotab.git
  installed package brotab 1.4.2, installed using Python 3.13.1
  These apps are now globally available
    - brotab
    - bt
    - bt_mediator
done! ✨ 🌟 ✨

$ bt install
Installing mediator manifest /home/lamy/.mozilla/native-messaging-hosts/brotab_mediator.json
Installing mediator manifest /home/lamy/.config/chromium/NativeMessagingHosts/brotab_mediator.json
Installing mediator manifest /home/lamy/.config/google-chrome/NativeMessagingHosts/brotab_mediator.json
Installing mediator manifest /home/lamy/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/NativeMessagingHosts/brotab_mediator.json

Link to Chrome (Chromium)/Brave extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/brotab/mhpeahbikehnfkfnmopaigggliclhmnc/

$ brotab clients
$ brotab list

Clearly just a new release won't fix the problem, as there is no output (see previous comment).

@lamyergeier I think your issue #120 may indeed be caused by #105. If so, installing from the latest source should fix your issue. However, a new PyPI release is needed anyway and this is an independent issue from yours which affects everyone, so let's please keep the discussion about your problem on issue #120. I can't help you with pipx, as I'm not really familiar with it and just use pip myself. However, I linked to some pipx issues in your issue #120 which I hope will help you with that.
