Description

Every time I go to the router page I get this in the console.
GET http://192.168.8.1/api net::ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED 200 (OK)
This does not happen in chrome or any other browser, just brave, and I do not have any extensions that could cause this.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Get a Huawei CPE Pro 2 router
  2. Navigate to its homepage
  3. Try to log in.

Sorry, I meant a huawei router, The CPE Pro 2. I have two and I mixed up.

It still affects it with shields off.

Does chrome and/or safari work on the same site? Just googling the error, https://appuals.com/how-to-fix-err_content_decoding_failed-error/ Specifically the Solution 1 and Solution 2. Assuming a VPN isn't in use (and is disabled).

Could test in Brave Beta

I got also this error now. I don't know why. Maybe Startpage changed something or Brave browser updated itself without my knowledge. Startpage.com works, the searching does just not working. On firefox it works normally. On the private tab it also works. Now I tried removing all my extensions and this does not help. It still not worked, so one of extension is not the problem. Searching with the homepage of Startpage.com does also not helped. Also POST and GET does not working. I am now on Ubuntu based popOS (Linux) LTS Version.

oh and Solution 1 and 2 from https://appuals.com/how-to-fix-err_content_decoding_failed-error/ also did not working.

Update: I made a few changes by the dns settings in brave for another problem. I also change the default search engine to google and restart my browser. Something of this made it working again.
