Background

gp3 volumes are now used by default on RDS/Elasticsearch instances, but existing instances would be using gp2

To do

  • Update broker to support upgrading RDS instances to use gp3 storage volumes
  • Update broker to support upgrading Elasticsearch/Opensearch instances to use gp3 storage volumes
  • Deploy changes to prod
  • Update website to note that storage/volume type can be upgraded
  • Manually test that upgrades are successful for RDS and Elasticsearch
