Error message issue

So if, for example, I forget to click search when posting a CycleStreets photo (look it happens OK? :-) ) Cyclescape take me to the top of the page to read the message. Is there a way of staying roughly where you arrived so you can rectify things, rather than scroll down? And could the error message suggest what to do? (I did remember but some may not.)
