Once once our che-theia version (currently che rc3 which is theia 0.8.0) picks up these fixes we can make improvements / remove workarounds on our end.

eclipse-theia/theia#5661 allows us to add back the commands to the tree items.

eclipse-theia/theia#5665 will allow us to contribute to the Explorer view instead of a separate viewsContainer (if we so choose) for consistency with VS Code.

eclipse-theia/theia#5744 will allow us to add back the "Click here to create a project" to the No Projects treeitem.
