Now that GitHub Actions are up and running, we wave goodbye to Appveyor and TravisCI.

I'll wait for CI to finish - and then move the "required" from travis/appveyor to github actions.

closing and reopening PR - I removed the travis and appveyor CI webbooks.

umm. i'm not sure why appveyor is still showing up in this PR - let's go ahead and merge once the GitHub Actions jobs are complete.
