Tried this setup while using Debian 10 as base image, all went well cluster gets created but pod networking is not functional.
The reason is, that at least starting with Debian 10 it uses iptables-nft as default and Calico does not work with this setup. Can be fixed by
update-alternatives --set iptables /usr/sbin/iptables-legacy
Or configuring Calico using nft instead, see:
