• Updated to the newest version of serialport
  • /dev/cu.* ports will now be enumerated on macOS
• Implemented detection of bootloader/parittion table when using esp-idf-sys with cargo-espflash
  • Detect the bootloader and partition table from ESP-IDF when able espflash#186
• Merged some PRs into espflash from community members:
  • Pass-through --target-dir to cargo espflash#187
  • Remove dependency to FirmwareImage from flash_targets espflash#189

xtensa-toolchain

• New release of xtensa-toolchain action (v.1.2.0)
  • Allow specifying buildtargets xtensa-toolchain#4
  • Properly export LIBCLANG_PATH xtensa-toolchain#6

miscellaneous

• Merged re-write of esp-alloc crate using linked-list-allocator into main
  • Re-write the allocator to use the linked-list-allocator crate esp-alloc#2
  • Have a branch which uses this in esp-wifi however we're still debugging some issues
• Made a bunch of changes to the Awesome ESP Rust list
  • Various spelling/grammar/formatting improvements, more inline with other lists awesome-esp-rust#1
• Updates to esp8266-hal to get it building again

  • Fix a few issues with the GDB command forwarding
  • Close all listening sockets & tasks on exit

compiler - std

• Tracked down the root cause of Unable to list files in a SPIFFS partition #117, ended up being two issues
  • Incorrect definition of dirent in esp-idf Unable to list files in a SPIFFS partition #117 (comment)
  • SPIFFS emitting a private error in a public function - Unable to list files in a SPIFFS partition #117 (comment)

misc

• I started playing with my old university project again, mainly untangling the stm32l4 hal that was originally used from the core of the kernel. Progress in Hardware agnostic kernel MWatch/kernel#69 - esp32s3 version incoming? 👀

• seems to work on ESP32-S3
• not really works on ESP32: the first 4 bytes written are always trashed - not clear to me why and how to fix it (help wanted)
• doesn't work on ESP32-S2 yet (help wanted)
