archive node not supports path scheme?

Hi, I found there is a PR #31439 which force hash scheme for archive mode, does it mean that the archive node does not support path scheme?

If it is true, can you explain why it has this limitation?

Because of the slow rollout of Prague, we decided not to merge the path scheme archive mode yet. It's planned for the first bigger release after Prague successfully activated

Hi, from https://github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum/releases/tag/v1.16.0 I found that release_v1.16.0 using the PBSS will reduce the disk from 20T to about 2T. Good job!

And can you explain how the PBSS works in archive node?
