gedit 3.8 and plugin breakage

A good handfull of plugins seem to be broken in gedit 3.8 (ubuntu 13.10)

I got the following list from just running down the plugins I have installed and trying to enable them and seeing which ones fail. not sure all of these are included with gmate, but many are for sure

Any updates here? I'm trying to fix tab switch plugin, but no luck yet.

tried to fix tab switch, but never tested as don't use that one myself

too bad, that's the one plugin I use the most. Any advice how I can fix it?

Is this still broken in Saucy? And are there still folks using 13.10 (I see EOL is July 2014)? I don't have a Saucy box handy to test against, but I can try to push the fixes that were made for Trusty into a package for Saucy and update the PPA if someone would benefit from it.
