Spec claims that the from parameter to a /rooms/:room_id/messages request is a required parameter. However, at time of writing every request that sytest makes lacks this parameter, so evidentially synapse is quite happy with its absence.

Reporting this as a SYN bug but I suppose it could equally be a SPEC bug instead
