From dda8cb78c64034f337f11da4ee212ac64c931062 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Harshavardhana Date: Mon, 5 Oct 2020 15:41:28 -0700 Subject: [PATCH] Turn-off bucket DNS by default, make it opt-in (#321) To enable one must enable this explicitly. ``` s3: bucketDNS: true ``` It looks like many S3 API users seem to have buckets with `.` in them and would love to just use `path-style` instead of `bucket` DNS style. Making this an opt-in because users should be aware of the restrictions this would bring in for their bucket names. --- examples/tenant-encryption.yaml | 6 + examples/tenant-pod-security-policy.yaml | 10 + examples/tenant.yaml | 6 + kubectl-minio/statik/statik.go | 2 +- .../crds/minio.min.io_tenants.yaml | 944 ++++++++++++++---- pkg/apis/minio.min.io/v1/helper.go | 10 +- pkg/apis/minio.min.io/v1/names.go | 3 +- pkg/apis/minio.min.io/v1/types.go | 14 +- .../minio.min.io/v1/zz_generated.deepcopy.go | 21 + .../statefulsets/minio-statefulset.go | 26 +- 10 files changed, 814 insertions(+), 228 deletions(-) diff --git a/examples/tenant-encryption.yaml b/examples/tenant-encryption.yaml index 3da76643930..68f51099295 100644 --- a/examples/tenant-encryption.yaml +++ b/examples/tenant-encryption.yaml @@ -192,6 +192,12 @@ spec: ## https://kubernetes.io/docs/tasks/tls/managing-tls-in-a-cluster requestAutoCert: true + ## Enable S3 specific features such as Bucket DNS which would allow `buckets` to be + ## accessible as DNS entries of form `.minio.default.svc.cluster.local` + s3: + ## This feature is turned off by default + bucketDNS: false + ## This field is used only when "requestAutoCert" is set to true.
