Can a separate repo be created for Homebrew tap such that standard commands work?

❯ brew tap natesales/repo
==> Tapping natesales/repo
Cloning into '/opt/homebrew/Library/Taps/natesales/homebrew-repo'...
remote: Repository not found.
fatal: repository 'https://github.com/natesales/homebrew-repo/' not found

It would make life easier for those who use derivative tools that don't support specifying an URL for the brew tap command.
