<p class="covid-header">COVID GUIDELINES FOR DDS TRIALS</p>
<p class="covid-text">1. There will be no lunch provided. Only pre-packaged snacks, water,
and sodas will be available.</p>
<p class="covid-text">2. Please set your canopies/crating areas at least 6-8 feet apart.</p>
<p class="covid-text">3. Masks are not mandatory, but strongly advised if you’re within 6
feet of other people.</p>
<p class="covid-text">4. Please don’t congregate in the big ramada. Printed course maps and
the result books will be on the table, but please don’t crowd around
them. Ribbons will be self-service, but please sanitize your hands
before touching any of the above listed items.</p>
<p class="covid-text">5. Hand sanitizer will be available, but please bring your own if
possible.</p>
<p class="covid-text">6. Workers will be required to use hand sanitizer before touching any
of the club’s equipment: leash grabber, timer, scribe pens, gate
pens, jump poles, etc. Course builders must sanitize their hands
before touching and/or moving equipment.</p>

<p>Desert Dawg Sports Club (DDS) is a not-for-profit organization in Tucson, AZ. It was formed by a group of individuals who believed in having a great time with their dogs.</p>
<p>DDS members enjoy a mixture of activities with their pups: <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog_agility" target="_blank">agility</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_canine_freestyle" target="_blank">canine freestyle</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rally_obedience" target="_blank">rally obedience</a>, <a href="http://www.barnhunt.com/" target="_blank">barn hunt</a>, and more. Some participate in multiple activities, while others focus on a single one. We have a sense of humor and a supportive attitude toward our dog(s) and fellow competitors. Our primary purpose is helping people have fun with their dogs, and have fun ourselves in the process. We will consider any game if members are willing to support it with their time and share it with others.</p>
<p>Agility has been around a long time and is our strongest interest - we currently offer shows in <a href="https://rsagility.com/" target="_blank">RAINE</a> (Rockstar Agility Network, formerly DOCNA) and <a href="http://www.k9cpe.com/" target="_blank">CPE</a> (Canine Performance Events, Inc) both of which have well-deserved reputations for being excellent for first-time handlers or new canine athletes.</p>
<p>Some members are involved in canine freestyle through the <a href="http://www.worldcaninefreestyle.org/" target="_blank">WCFO</a> (World Canine Freestyle Organization), which is global and has clubs in 17 countries.</p>

<h1>Agility</h1>
<p>Our two agility venues are <a href="https://rsagility.com/" target="_blank">RAINE</a> (Rockstar Agility Network, formerly DOCNA) and <a href="http://www.k9cpe.com/" target="_blank">CPE</a> (Canine Performance Events, Inc). Both venues stress the importance of having fun with your dog, and have designed their programs to do just that.</p>
<p>All trials are held outdoors at <a href="http://webcms.pima.gov/cms/one.aspx?portalId=169&pageId=1367" target="_blank">Brandi Fenton Memorial Park</a>. Our shows are one-ring and fully fenced.</p>

<p>Some of the philosophies of Desert Dawg Sports, along with its absolutes and key differences regarding agility are:</p>
<ul class="differences">
<li><i class="fas fa-paw"></i>One judge shows – there will never be a ring conflict, a reason not to work a class, or see your friend’s runs.</li>
<li><i class="fas fa-paw"></i>We expect and appreciate people to work the show to the extent they are able; we will provide lunch, shade and a raffle ticket.</li>
<li><i class="fas fa-paw"></i>We solicit and encourage first-time agility dogs and handlers, including junior handlers. If you have any questions or suggestions just let us know, we’re happy to help.</li>
<li><i class="fas fa-paw"></i>Junior handlers enjoy discounted runs for any of our agility trials.</li>
<li><i class="fas fa-paw"></i>We always fence the entire ring and will close the exits if the handler asks (and the judge allows).</li>
<li><i class="fas fa-paw"></i>We use rubberized contacts.</li>

<h4>DDS Scrip Rules</h4>
<ol class="scrip-rules">
<li><i class="fas fa-paw"></i>Scrip is earned by volunteering at Desert Dawg Sports agility trials.
$1 for each class worked $5 for helping with ring set-up on the day before the trial starts
$50 is split between people who stay to help break down the rings and continue to help until the equipment trailer doors are closed</li>
<li><i class="fas fa-paw"></i>You may use scrip for any Desert Dawg Sports event entry, such as RAINE or CPE agility trials, or for DDS-hosted Fun Runs.</li>
<li><i class="fas fa-paw"></i>You may use up to $2 per run in scrip on your entries.</li>
<li><i class="fas fa-paw"></i>A “Free Run” coupon is valued at $12, and may be used in conjunction with the $2 per run in scrip.</li>
<li><i class="fas fa-paw"></i>Only one Free Run coupon per dog per trial may be used.</li>

<h1>Freestyle</h1>
<p>Our Canine Freestyle venue is the <a href="http://www.worldcaninefreestyle.org/" target="_blank">WCFO</a> (World Canine Freestyle Organization).</p>
<p>In November 2014 Desert Dawg Sports, along with other clubs, hosted the WCFO Nationals here in Tucson, AZ for the first time.</p>
