Simple summary:
Adds ParameterManagerWidget to be used alongside the LoopManagerWidget to view and modify key experimental values such as gate voltages or microwave settings (e.g. power). Can be used in 'monitor' mode where no changes can be made.

Desired features:

  • Use TextArea instead of BoundedFloatBox to display any parameter values, not just floats
  • Allow monitor-only mode, disallowing any changes by hiding the locking checkbox
  • Add methods to change multiple values synchronously in the way the sim_gui used to operate
  • Allow non-parameter values to also be monitored

I would also love for feedback and collab on this feature, I just had this idea to bring the old sim_gui into the future with JupyterLab, but I think it can be a more broadly encompassing monitor of key values that might be of interest during a measurement (e.g. microwave power, gate voltages, IQ modulation).

Only handles float-valued parameters at the moment.

Just an FYI, the main QCoDeS seems to have a fairly decent parameter monitor. I think it works like a server that listens to parameter changes, not exactly sure on the details here, but worth a look
