This ticket collects all the tasks to migrate to DocBook5. The other tickets may provide more details.

  1. Implement daps-migrate [Implement Migration Stylesheets from DocBook 4 <-> DocBook 5 [sf#254] #253]
  2. Support DocBook5 in daps-init [r4493]
  3. Create the correct DOCTYPE header (or none at all) in all DocBook files generated by DAPS (profiled sources, bigfiles, ...) [Adding PROFSECURITY [sf#250] #249]
  4. Implement migration stylesheets [Implement Migration Stylesheets from DocBook 4 <-> DocBook 5 [sf#254] #253]
  5. Add DocBook 5 tests to the DAPS test suite [Add DocBook 5 tests to the DAPS test suite [sf#258] #257]
  6. Customize DocBook5 schema [Customize DocBook5 Schema [sf#255] #254]
  7. Investigate, if we need xml-model PI to detect a (possible) DocBook5 customization [Write XSLT to Return xml-model PI [sf#252] #251]
  8. Decide how to best maintain DB4 and DB5 stylesheets in parallel [Maintain XSL Stylesheets for DB4/5 in parallel [sf#256] #255]
  9. Find a solution for the saxon6 performance problems (the complete Java environment is initialized for each file saxon processes)
  10. Adjust the SUSE stylesheets to support also DocBook5 constructs
  11. Integrate new DocManager 3 from Rick's work

I think we're at good enough state. Nobody cares about saxon these days (functionality is broken). So->close.
