GitHub Classrooms Feedback Pull Requests Delayed

Hi everyone,

When my students accept new assignments, the creation of the feedback pull request is being delayed, sometimes by hours, other times even by days. This is causing a variety of problems.

One is that a lot of their repositories are now being flagged for modified protected files, as I usually protect the .github directory.

Another problem is that it's forcing my students to merge branches when the bot decides to make its changes while the students are working on the repository. This is problematic for my first-year students who I'm not really teaching Git to.

Can someone please look into how the general GitHub pull request changes have been impacting GitHub Classrooms? I have a separate issue here that hasn't seen any replies either, about how the feedback pull requests don't work properly in GitHub Codespaces any more: https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/139142
