In conclusion the author of this project:

1. doesn't like nor has any patience for TypeScript
2. wants 0 (zero) dependencies, and that includes development dependencies

I would like to try and help you out a bit. I would like to convert the project to primarily use TypeScript.
With LTS Node.js versions now supporting TypeScript files (via erasableSyntaxOnly), using TypeScript is quite a bit simpler, easier and less hassle.

I would like to start with bundling. I want to use Rolldown, Vite is already bundled with it vitejs/vite#19925.
Then I'll convert src one file at a time to TypeScript.

I have some experience on meilisearch-js.

Thank you for the suggestion, but there is no reason to convert to Typescript for me, and I will definitely not start adding dependencies.

I understand you have "no use" for TypeScript (and have negative feelings towards it seemingly), but to suggest there's no reason to use it even for you is plain wrong. Your current defined types can easily get out of sync with your code, leaving your users scratching their heads. And type safety is a thing indeed.

And just by taking a look at the source code, I think most potential contributors will be very turned off from attempting anything serious. Types help you understand the code.

As someone who uses postgres.js everyday and being bullish on TS, there exists no substantive rationale to taint this project with such needless encumbrance, it would merely introduce cacophonous noise, burdensome overhead, and an unwelcome dilution. The Type declarations do more than enough.

Not every tool demands a gilded cage, keep postgres.js pure.
