Just played around with tool during NECCC conference. Great tool. A few suggestions: 
- It would be helpful to provide some general guidance on bulk density values for different soil textures (since many people won't have BD values)
- NO3 values can vary greatly at different parts of year. It would be good to know what time of year the NO3 value should be from.
-It would be good to have some general ranges for lignin, cellulose, etc. for those who don't have those data

I am a little perplexed as to why a high biomass, low %N cover crop (e.g. 0.9% N) that produces 4500 lbs/ac of biomass is given a 32 lb/ac N credit for corn. This is opposite to the guidance typically provided and to common experience. Might be worth looking at a bit closer..

Hi, we were hoping to use this tool in conjunction with a cover crop plot we planted in the fall.  I have a number of questions about the tool - does it work with legume/grass cover crop mixes, and if so, is the biomass sampling just for the legumes (I assume it is), and Im assuming the biomass sampling should occur as close as possible to the cover crop termination date.  If we could have a dialogue about these type of questions that would be great.  Thanks.

On the tell us about your cover crop page.  I entered 10000 lbs of biomass with no error.  I went back to cut that in half and gave message that indicated that half as much was considered to much biomass.  Also, seems like there should be a cover crop plant date since that would greatly effect biomass accumulation.

Steven is having the same issue trying to demo the tool (while on Zoom) that I had the other day. You try to use the example case, and it says 'loading output please wait' but doesn't load. (I tried it while off Zoom the other day and the problem repeated.)

I was able to break the model again somehow, even though I feel like I just put the identical inputs in a few minutes ago.
May 1 termination of cereal rye, crimson clover and forage radish. 3000 lbs per acre dry matter. no adjustment of the fresh matter or g water. Plant into corn on May 15 at 180 lbs N. Error at the output.

Responded to Erin. A location may not have been selected, which prevented the call to the SSURGO API. I'm now hard-coding BD and OM based on the default location.

I'm making N release graphs for extension talks and I'm having issues with the output not loading if I name the field. I tried to narrow down the problem with it not loading and the only thing I came up with is naming the field. It worked when naming some field but not others so I'm not sure.

If we don't have information on %dry matter, does the model count this as 'no information', or does it estimate?


It would be helpful to understand more about the model's assumptions regarding termination method (e.g. tillage, no-till roll-crimp, no-till chemical, etc).
