This is with an Arch client, and macOS host. I have followed all the advice in #7, yet my key mapping is still incorrect; q becomes -, w becomes =, e becomes [backspace], r becomes [tab], t becomes w, y becomes q. The entire keyboard is messed up, these are just examples.
I am unable to run waynergy-mapper, in either xkb or raw mode. On the first keypress (regardless of how many keys are skipped), it exits with keymap changed, exiting.
This is with a split ergo keyboard (Kyria rev 3.0), Colemak-DH layout, which I imagine is relevant.

These issues (keymap, waynergy-mapper) have both fixed themselves after two daily reboots. I have no idea what's changed. If I determine the source, I'll update this ticket.
