Rough sub-task breakdown (not 100% sure if more or fewer things will be needed):

  • Centralize logic and better document invariants for location groups used by ref panel. https://github.com/sourcegraph/sourcegraph/pull/58183
  • Attach SCIP Documents from syntax highlighting to (per file) location groups for filtering.
  • Implement filtering logic using SCIP Documents
  • Add UI setting for toggling string filtering on/off
