You could have said it laconically, but you chose to add detail, which is fair enough. Thank you for the full note on your philosophy. My reflection would be to stick all or some of that on the README so you're broadcasting it. It does come across, I think, that you maybe don't know how to say no, or, at least, say no quicker, or that there is a bit too much of an expectation or duty felt. Issues can be closed as out of scope, or templates with messages can be used. Though it is up to you, if anyone really wants to get in contact there are still methods.
