Put together some initial content summarizing some of the discussion we had over lunch. Figured it would be easier to refine something than start from scratch by committee. That being said, used some of my own phraseology, but all that is up for debate/refinement.

I figured we could use this particular project in the organization for discussions that Glenn suggested.

Checkout the other issues I have opened to start some discussion.

Looking forward to working together.

RE "my own phraseology": You should consider an academic career right away! Solid stuff.

So, reading the charter document I think the following:

  • Implement simple Hypermedia agents.
  • Implement testing support.

is out of the scope of this project. At least it should be. I definitely want to get there but let's kick it out for now. Let's focus solely on the very fundamental idea of Representors, transitions and (de)serialization.

What do you think?

Well, we did discuss limiting scope. I did want to have a long term picture. So, we can just take it out completely or restructure things between initial goals (phase) and others. Preferences between taking out or moving into other document or just showing phases?

Personally, I would say throw it out and focus hardcore on the main thing. We can add a note somewhere that this might be done at some point later. I would really minimize the scope for now so we can feel the progress. We can always extend this if successful.

Nice work, Mark! Thanks for kicking this off!

I agree with @zdne that we need to keep a tight focus on scope so code can happen sooner rather than later!
