  • Jump to last unread message banner
  • Visible bar as a read marker
  • Disappears shortly after being seen (~2s delay, then ~1s animation)
  • Based on user activity (if the page is focused, don't show the read marker. If the page isn't focused, show it and don't dismiss it until the user comes back).
    • Fix the read receipt sending at the same time (only send if the user has reasonably 'seen' the event)
