loadAndTransform throws error when plugin tries to resolve ID to external URL

Describe the bug

When a plugin tries to resolve an ID to an external URL, following error is thrown on the terminal:

Failed to load url https://esm.sh/stable/react@18.2.0/es2022/react.js (resolved id: https://esm.sh/stable/react@18.2.0/es2022/react.js). Does the file exist? (x2)
