  • announcements and github stuff appears in descending chronological order (recent-first)
  • you can pin announcements and they can be blog-post style with markdown rendering and thumbnails
  • github stuff can be grouped by day in a collapsible thing so that it doesn't get overwhelming
  • prs and commits can have their own little logo thing on top of a vertical line it will look like a github issue/pr basically

adding onto this:
maybe a dynamic banner on the top of pages?
this could be related to the pinned announcement(s), or a new post for example
then users can control its visibility with a cookie by interaction
