Currently we have the development status marked as beta, but maybe we should revisit this.

Thanks, @jakirkham. With all the recent cleanups, I wonder if it even makes sense to target the magical 1.0... 😄

Not sure. There were other changes we discussed, which would entail breakage. Given we could get them wrong and need to follow up with additional breaking changes to fix any fallout, would prefer to give us a bit more flexibility and stick to 0.x for now. Maybe after some time we could revisit
