Describe the bug
I purchased and installed the app on my Google Pixel 3 45mm LTE watch. I have a Google Pixel 5 smartphone. I was hoping to send an unencrypted Aegis json from my phone to my watch, however, I could not find the Wristkey app on the Play store on my phone. On the watch, I found it and installed it. I finally navigated on my phone directly to the Play store URL for the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=zeroxfourf.wristkey and the app was found, however, it says "This phone isn't compatible with this app." I'm rather flummoxed as to why that would the case???
As a last resort, I also tried using myWear File Explorer to transfer the Aegis json file from my phone to the watch, and even though it says on my phone that the file was transferred, I don't see a way on the watch to import the file in Wristkey. When going into the import option, it speaks about a file picker but I don't actually see a button or anything to do that.
As for the ADB option, I'm not interested in the extra hassle of using ADB option. One of the above options should work. Unfortunately, it doesn't for me .... I'm not quite sure why ... it's not like my phone is ancient and the Pixel Watch 3 is brand new. I sadly refunded the purchase but would repurchase if I was able to install on my phone.
I am flummoxed likewise and it's not my fault here, but Google's. Every time I try to upload the app to the Play Store, I need to upload it twice. One for watches, and the other one for phones. Whenever I do so, they reject my app for a nonsensical reason. Last time, it was rejected due to there being "no splash screen", which is clearly untrue. When I modify the app to use the official splash screen API, it looks like a turd on the phone. When I don't use it, it gets rejected for the watch.
As for the Aegis JSON import not happening on the watch, it's an easy fix. Import it on the phone first, and send it to the watch next. Install the app on both devices. Make sure they're both on the same Wi-Fi network, and use the wireless transfer utility (select receive on the watch and send on the phone). You can read more about this here. You can thank Google once again for making it this messy.
I am glad you were able to get your refund from Google. The reason I made it paid there is because I want to recover this developer fee that they took from me. I would encourage you to get the free APK from here.
