Mounting the guide sign (#7) means the mount needs surrounding context. Displaying an idealized view of the entire junction will allow this tool to more effectively simulate an exit maneuver. The details to illustrate in order of priority:
Lanes and lane change restrictions
Gore
Gore exit sign
Arrow indicating the suggested maneuver along the roadway
Surrounding natural features like trees
Curvature of the road ahead
The opposing side of a divided road
An overpass up ahead
The latter details would be difficult to accomplish with the current approach of generating SVG. Perhaps it would be necessary to plot the signage and other details atop an interactive map that would simply display OpenStreetMap data. Unfortunately, Mapbox GL currently lacks the ability to tilt beyond 60° (mapbox/mapbox-gl-js#3731). This is a problem because a sign that faces the viewer directly would look out of place if the map is tilted any less than 90°.
