• I deployed a cluster to Azure and some hubs for CarbonPlan New Hub: CarbonPlan / Azure infrastructure#800

• The Azure story is still new so there are some missing pieces that need to be thought out

Updates from last week ✔

• Sent out the alpha service 2-pager to a few communities that are interested in working with us (Alpha service offering description and rationale #262)
• Started working a bit on capacity building questions, trying to figure out what resources we have to build capacity and where we should try to build it. (https://github.com/2i2c-org/meta/issues/256 is part of this)

Challenges I faced and things I'd like assistance with 🙏

• I'd love discussion and brainstorming about what other kinds of roles we should include in our service model around Pangeo (or similarly complex communities), and how we can build that capacity ([Discuss] Provide community guidance and deeper support for some communities #297)

My availability for next week

• I'll be around Mon->Wed, but I will be off on Thursday / Friday.

• I mostly paid attention to support requests and understanding the AWS setup
• Did some experiments around finding the best setup that enables CILogon authentication for our hubs

• I would love people's help on deciding the next steps about the CILogon setup ➡️ Enable authentication via CILogon infrastructure#315 (comment)

• Next Tuesday and Wednesday are national holidays in Romania (St Andrew's and National Day)

Updates from last week ✔

• Supporting the openscapes event, [EVENT] OpenScapes NASA Cloud Hackathon infrastructure#810
  • Meged Fix shared directory ownership and enable w+r on it infrastructure#832
  • Providing continuous feedback to community representative questions
  • Providing feedback on support-related tickets
  • Manually pre-warm and post-cold down the cluster on a pre-scheduled basis during the whole week
  • Also tweaking and adjusting the optimal number of nodes during the "hot" hours
• Progress on several admin-related items
• Started to look at Add version dropdown (for other versions of the docs) pydata/pydata-sphinx-theme#23

Challenges I faced and things I'd like assistance with 🙏

• We run the openscapes event with a non-optimal state in the cluster and that brought us known and unknown issues and push us to on-the-fly "hacks" to solve them. We should avoid this pattern in the future.

• I was AFK yesterday because of a national holiday, 100% otherwise.
