If a particle is created outside of the tracking volume (e.g. the calorimeter) and scattered back into the tracking volume where it then creates SimTrackerHits:

  • a new MCParticle should be created
    • ideally as daughter of the primary particle the went into the calorimeter
  • SimTrackeHits should be assigned to this new MCParticle

Debug hints:

  • should try and use the stored random seed for the event shown above and re-run ddsim with it
