Version 0.7.2 here on Mac OS X.

I wonder where it would be viable to provide snapshots of the chain via bittorrent with the proper signature to check their validity. It's been more than three hours and it has downloaded like 5 Gb of data.

My connection is able to download a torrent that size in less than 15 minutes, provided enough peers to take advantage of all the bandwidth.

This could help to speed up the first setup, that I think in its current state will discourage many users.

UPDATE: I paused this yesterday and restarted this morning, now it looks like the donkey and the carrot: the more things it synchronizes, the more new ones appear. It seems like it couldn't keep pace... (the same goes for "processing").

Is MetaMask required to get it to work via the Web version? My desktop version is unable to find any peers. I just noticed that I'm running 0.5.2, though, so I'll see if updating to the latest version helps.

Yes, downloading the .zip for 0.7.2, extracting and running did seem to work. It found peers almost immediately.

Same problem, even with light sync. You dev guys still working on it?

I have this same problem. It's been syncing for over 24 hours now.

edit: I'm not sure why my comment automatically unassigned @sebastianrs95 – was not intentional, and I'm not sure why I seem to have that ability :)
