Contributing 🚀

Getting Started

Welcome to DevTools in Africa! We appreciate your interest in contributing to this project. This guide will walk you through the process, from forking the repository to submitting your pull request. If you ever need assistance, don't hesitate to reach out for help.

  1. Fork the Repository: Start by forking this repository. This action creates a copy of our project under your GitHub account.

    • Clone the repository (your forked version), by doing this...

      git clone https://github.com/adeboyedn/DevTools-in-Africa.git

      When you're done with the step above, change the directory to the project folder.

      cd DevTools-in-Africa
  2. Update the README:

    When you're inside the directory of the project, update the README file with the information about the event you wish to add.

  3. Set the Remote Upstream:

    Set the remote upstream of your forked repository to the base repository (i.e., the original repository).

    git remote add upstream https://github.com/adeboyedn/DevTools-in-Africa.git
  4. Create a New Branch:

    Create a branch and start working on your feature.

    git checkout -b <branch-name>
  5. Save and Commit Your Changes:

    Save and commit your changes.

    git add --all
    git commit -m "Your message"
  6. Push to Your Branch, Create a Pull Request:

    Push your changes to your branch, create a pull request, and wait for it to be merged.

    git push origin [branch-name]
