AdGuard VPN version

2.5.0 release (719)

Environment

- MacBookPro15,1 (Intel)
- MacOS 12.7.6 (21H1320)
- Other network-level software: AdGuard ad blocker (2.16.2.1866)

Which DNS server do you use?

AdGuard DNS

Custom DNS

No response

Issue Details

The Adguard VPN use the GPU accelerator with the disabled setting "Use hardware accelerator".

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launching macOS
  2. Launching: Adguard VPN.app
  3. Launching: Activity Monitor.app, add the "Graphics Card" column, search for the "AdGuard VPN" process

Expected Behavior

when investigating the "AdGuard VPN" process, I see "No" in the "Graphics Card" column.

Actual Behavior

when investigating the "AdGuard VPN" process, I see "Yes" in the "Graphics Card" column.

Additional Information

I have removed the Adguard VPN in accordance with the "Advanced uninstall" method from the official product support website /kb/adguard-vpn-for-mac/installation/, restarted the system, installed the Adguard VPN, and launched the Adguard VPN without additional settings.
Result: The Adguard VPN still continues to use the GPU accelerator with the disabled setting "Use hardware accelerator".

upd.
A clean install of macOS 12.7.4 (21H1123) and AdGuard VPN did not give the expected behaviour

@michaelshilop Hello! Thank you for reporting this issue. It does appear to be a bug. We have assigned this issue to a version and will continue to investigate.
